40 years

My parents celebrated their 40th anniversary today. My siblings and I planned a surprise party at their house for them. They were distracted by my two nephews and brother in law taking them out for donuts for their anniversary in the morning before picking Andrew and I up from the airport. While they were busy doing this, my siblings were at my parent's house getting the food ready and preparing for the house for people to show up. My parents thought it was just a surprise to have mostly all my siblings there and just enjoyed all of us. Here are a few pics from the party. Also, my brother and sister-in-law celebrated their 11th anniversary today!

Trent's brother was in town from Kansas, so he was able to get a picture of all of us including all 6 grandkids (one is in my sis' stomach)!

California Christmas

Andrew and I arrived in Sacramento last Friday and ever since we took the first step off the plane, we have been going non-stop.

Friday afternoon I spent the day with our friend and her daughter just doing a little bit of Christmas shopping.

Saturday was spent at a 1 year old boy's birthday party with plenty of food and catching up with old friends.

Sunday was spent for Andrew in Oakland watching the Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions game. We both went to church and then hung out with the wives of the guys Andew went with. These friends (they are sisters) are the friends that let us stay in their parents' rental home our first year of marriage. Plenty of changes in our lives, but thankful that we are able to stay in touch and hang out.

Monday I spent the day at a friend's house (same friend from Sunday) and hang out with her kids while she got some stuff done around the house. Andrew stayed home to work on his thesis.

Today has been spent working out, Christmas gift shopping for Andrew's dad, and then tonight I get to go to a Christmas party with the young couples that have kids from the church we attended during our first year of marriage and ME (with no kiddos and not close)! I made these delicious cookies (below) for the party plus a 7 layer dip with chips! Andrew is off to the Sacramento Kings game with his dad tonight.

More fun to be had in the next 11 days. Stay tuned.
